Absentee Ballot Change Makes Voting Safer

Dear Editor,

Governor Hochul has extended the definition of illness to request an absentee ballot to include COVID-19 for 2022. In 2020 over 20 percent of registered voters requested an absentee ballot. Covid is still here and so is the resistance to wearing a mask. Vulnerable voters should be able to exercise their right to vote without jeopardizing their health and the health of their family and friends.
