Chamber of Commerce Hires New Associate Director


The Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce hired Victoria Sturman as its new associate director and membership & events specialist.

As associate director, Sturman will act as liaison between the local business community and the chamber, communicating member benefits to prospective members, and assisting current members. 

A news release from the agency states that she will work side-by-side with Executive Director Gary Grote to help develop new business opportunities and grow the chamber’s membership.

Sturman will also help coordinate many of the chamber’s events, such as the Women’s Business Networking Luncheons, chamber’s Choice Awards, annual Street Festival & Sidewalk Sale, and Taste of East Aurora.

Recently, Sturman was a marketing and public relations consultant for a local marketing firm, working with a variety of businesses across Western New York. Prior to that, she worked with the Amherst Chamber of Commerce in Amherst and was an award-winning newspaper reporter for more than 10 years. She is also President of the Friends of the Orchard Park Public Library. 

In 2014, Sturman was named Woman of the Year by the Western New York Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association and given its Vision Award in 2011.

She has also served as a member of the Development and Public Relations Committee at Meals on Wheels for Western New York; and Co-Chair & Member of the Elmwood Village Association’s Public Relations & Marketing Committee.

She lives in Orchard Park with her husband Steven and two sons, Alex and Henry. In her free time, she teaches Zumba classes for the Southtowns Family YMCA.
