The First Amendment has been on my mind lately, in particular, the part concerning freedom of speech. As a writer, no constitutional right is more important. It is as significant as freedom of religion is to preachers, or the right to bear arms is to rednecks. Without freedom of speech, I would not have been able to make that redneck joke, and you would not be able to write a letter to the editor demanding my resignation.
