The first of two public hearings was held recently in the Town of Wales regarding the development of a farmland protection plan.
Nearly 30 residents attended the Dec. 7 meeting.
“We are trying to protect and preserve the rural character of Wales and the best way to do that is to protect the farmland,” Planning Board Member Mark Gaston said. Gaston initiated this project.
