Independent Commission Splits on Local Legislative Maps

Members of an independent bipartisan commission tasked with redrawing lines for state legislature and congressional districts have accused each other across party lines of being responsible for not reaching a compromise on a single set of updated district maps. Two sets of plans are now before the state legislature.

A lack of a unified plan could delay final approval for redistricting, which could in turn delay the petition process for primary elections this June.
