It’s Awards Season in East Aurora

It’s time to honor our business and non-profit communities.

The Greater East Aurora Chamber of Commerce is known for holding some of the largest events in the Greater East Aurora area – like the Annual Sidewalk Sale & Street Festival, the Taste of East Aurora and Carolcade.

But did you know that we also hold a smaller, but no less impactful event in March?

Our Annual Business Recognition Awards & Hall of Fame Induction is often a much quieter event with less hoopla and fanfare.

That’s all about to change.

Honoring our local businesses, non-profit organizations and leaders is important. They are the backbone of our area. It is their hard work, passion and tenaciousness that help our communities remain robust and dynamic.

For the past 77 years, the Chamber has honored a multitude of local leaders, businesses and nonprofits, quietly praising them for their continued support of our area.

But now it’s time to change it up and inject some excitement.

This year’s Business Recognition Awards & Hall of Fame Induction will be a little different and a lot more fun. We’ve revamped the awards and made them more contemporary. We are moving the venue each year to “share the Chamber love” with the different communities we serve. Last year we were in Holland. This year we’re back in East Aurora at Misters Bar & Lanes on Wednesday, March 13. Along with the cash bar event and food, including pork barbecue and Mister’s mac’n cheese, the Chamber will be having 50-50 raffles, silent auctions on some big-ticket experience items, and a gift card wall. All proceeds will benefit the Chamber, which is a 510(c) 6 non-profit organization.

Right now, we are asking for the public’s help in the award nomination process.

This year our five awards are:

-Small Businessperson of the Year

-Rookie Business of the Year

-Young Professional of the Year

-Non-Profit of the Year

-Legends Award (Hall of Fame)

Help us support our local nonprofits and businesses by nominating someone, by sponsoring this event, or by attending the awards dinner on March 13.

These organizations and people do so much for the community; it’s time for us to celebrate them.

More information on the awards can be found in a separate article in this edition of the Advertiser or on the Chamber website, www.eanycc.com. There is a nomination form on our website, or you can always email us at EAChamber@eanycc.com
