Knox Farm Part of State’s Annual Cleanup Day

The weekend of May 1 and May 2 is New York State’s annual I Love My Park Day. State agencies are asking volunteers to take the time to clean their local state parks.

At Knox Farm State Park, the work will start at 9 a.m. and continue until noon each day. People are asked to meet at the Bull Shed next to the main parking lot off Seneca Street to register and meet the group. Volunteers are asked to bring gardening gloves and other gardening tools such as a spade, rake and clippers.

The work at Knox will include garden cleanup, spreading mulch around the main house and fixing broken fences around the dog park. Tree plantings will also take place on Saturday, May 1. The work is appropriate for people 13 years old and above.

Due to Covid regulations, people are asked to bring their own food and drink. Masks must be worn during the event.

For questions, call 716-805-7205 or email admin@friendsofknoxfarm.org. Additional details can be found at www.ptny.org/events/i-love-my-park-day. A rain date is set for May 8 and May 9.
