Legislature Votes to Continue County Executive’s Emergency Order


The Erie County Legislature voted against halting the County Executive’s emergency order in relation to the pandemic in a vote last week.

The order, which has been renewed weekly for months, allows the Erie County Department of Health to do things such as enter into contracts with agencies or businesses that provide COVID-19 care without obtaining requests for proposals or “obtain any further authorization” to get a contract. It is meant to expedite services to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
