Letter to the Editor: Gov. Hochul’s Packaging Bill Won’t Do the Job 

Dear Editor,

Governor Kathy Hochul’s budget proposal to reduce excessive plastic packaging and paper means well, but it has serious flaws. It puts the companies who created the packaging mess in the driver's seat and fails to set requirements for reduction, recyclability and recycled content. It also fails to provide relief for taxpayers whose municipal waste dollars clean up all the garbage.
