Letter to the Editor: Thanks for Community Support With Kiwanis Chicken Barbecue

Dear Editor,
Last week, our Kiwanis Club was able to once again return a time-honored tradition to Hamlin Park and kick off the summer. Our 66th annual chicken barbecue was a great success, in large part due to the community and their continued support of our organization.

It takes a village to pull off an event of this magnitude, and so our club must extend our deepest gratitude. We would like to thank the following businesses for their sponsorship of our event: Century 21 Gold Standard, Charles D. Snyder & Son, Inc., West Herr Automotive Group and HUNT Real Estate. We would also like to extend our thanks to the Town of Aurora Highway Department, the Aurora Town Recreation Department, the Village of East Aurora and the East Aurora Police and Fire Police.

A huge thank you goes out to the East Aurora High School Key Club and their director Tara Arnold, who were instrumental in the packaging of 2,500 chicken dinners. We would also like to thank the East Aurora High School Jazz Band for providing wonderful entertainment, and Tony DiFilippo IV and Rick Ohler for their organization of a rousing Old Timers’ baseball game in the park.

All the proceeds raised will be put back into the community to support our kids. We look forward to continuing to bring this wonderful event to the village, but we need your help. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Kiwanis Club of East Aurora, reach out to us at eanykiwanis@gmail.com
