Dianne Mary Minton

Aug. 16, 1935 – Jan. 8, 2019

Dianne Mary (née Foss) Minton, a resident of Randolph and former resident of East Aurora, died at home on Tuesday, January 8 after a brief illness. She was 83.

A lifelong resident of Western New York, Mrs. Minton was born August 16, 1935 in Buffalo, the daughter of the late Harlow and Lucille Schnur Foss.

Prior to her retirement in 1996, Mrs. Minton was the Court Clerk for the New York State Supreme Court in Buffalo and had worked for New York State Electric & Gas in Lancaster earlier in her career.

Mrs. Minton was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church in Randolph. She enjoyed collecting antiques and collectibles. She loved traveling and while her granddaughter, Hope Ruth was a student at Randolph Central School, Mrs. Minton and husband Don would attend all of her sporting events.

Mrs. Minton is survived by husband of 63 years, Donald A. Minton, whom she married on October 1, 1955 in the Immaculate Conception Church in East Aurora; son David Minton of East Randolph; daughters Cheryl A. “Maggie” (Brian) Ruth of Randolph and Jill Abla of Bluffton, S.C.; sister Harlene (Paul) Barton of Williamsburg, Va.; four grandchildren Amy Rose (Ryan) Bierley of Rochester, Scott (Jenny) Abla of N.C., Joseph Minton of Austin, Texas, and Hope (Jeramy Cobo) Ruth of Randolph; great-granddaughter Ava Milan Bierley; nieces Heather Barton (Marco) Villagrana and Kate Barton (Jason) Mitchell; and a former daughter-in-law Karen Skinner.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Minton is predeceased by grandson Jonathan Abla.

Funeral services were held on  Sat., Jan 12 at the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, 14 Church Street, Randolph, with Rev. Joseph Janaczek officiating. Burial followed in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Randolph.
