Obituary: Durward Welton Keller, RV Enthusiast, Cherished Husband and Father 

Durward Welton Keller

April 1, 1930-Jan. 13, 2022

Durward Welton Keller, a longtime resident of East Aurora, died at Absolut Care in East Aurora, under the care of Hospice, on Thursday, January 13. He was 91.

Born in East Aurora on April 1, 1930, he was the son of the late Durward E. Keller and Olive S. Welton. He graduated from East Aurora High School, where he was a member of the Student Council Senate, Future Farmers of America, and the baseball team, in 1948. He lived in East Aurora until 2016 when he moved to Lancaster.

His career was with Keller Bros. and he sat on the Oakwood Cemetery Board.

A longtime elder and board member of East Aurora Christian Church, he earned The Network of Religious Communities and East Aurora Christian Church Religious Service Award on May 3, 2020.

A passionate RV enthusiast, Mr. Keller was a member of the Winnebago International Travelers Club and traveled to rallies across the United States. 

Mr. Keller enjoyed baseball, ice cream, making home improvements on his Pine Street residence, and fidgeting with gadgets including CB radios, police scanners, and thermostats.

He is survived by his wife Dorathy Dill Keller, whom he wed on Sept. 9, 1950; children Gary (Linda) Keller, Wade (Maryalice) Keller, Todd (Sue Carroll) Keller, Robin (Mike Sears) Keller, Jodi (Elizabeth Dunne) Keller, Jill (Mike Schamberger) Keller; half-sister Jan (Dana) Dylewski; brother-in-law Joseph McCormick; sister-in-law Patricia Keller; and many beloved nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by sister Shirley A. McCormick and brother Andrew E. Keller.

Services will be held on Sat., Jan. 22, at 2 p.m., at East Aurora Christian Church. The Keller family respectfully requests that all attendees are fully vaccinated and wearing masks.

In lieu of flowers, Mr. Keller’s family requests memorial donations be made to East Aurora Christian Church by mail to 464 Main St, East Aurora, NY 14052 or to the Western New York Center for the Visually Impaired by mail to 3070 Transit Rd, West Seneca, NY 14224.
