Paul A. Pomerhn

July 29, 1953-August 26, 2019

Paul A. Pomerhn, of East Aurora, died Monday, August 26, after a battle with cancer. He was 66.

Mr. Pomerhn was a graduate of the Cheektowaga High School class of 1971, and earned an associates degree in electrical technology from Erie Community College in 1973. He wed his high school sweetheart, the former Kathy Reynolds on June 14, 1975, and they were married for 44 years.

After working for Wilson Greatbatch, he was employed by Siemens Medical for 35 years, working as a field service engineer until his retirement in 2012.

Mr. Pomerhn enjoyed travel, and traveled to Europe to visit his son while he was stationed there. Each spring for the past several years, his trips included a trip to Florida. Shortly before his illness made traveling impossible, he was able to make a trip to the Adirondacks with his daughter and family, which is a cherished memory for his loved ones. Family members expressed Mr. Pomerhn was always full of life and young at heart and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Pomerhn loved his solitary time spent in nature, especially time spent at Hunters Creek. He was an active outdoorsman, and spent much of his time hiking, bicycling and kayaking. He also enjoyed cross-country and downhill skiing. He shared these pastimes with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Kathy, and his children, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Hamson of Henrietta and Richard (Morgan Taylor) Pomerhn of Helena, Mont. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jake and Joel Hamson, who call him Papa, and sisters Deborah (John) Leible and Carol (Robert) Leible.

There will be no prior visitation. Flowers gratefully declined. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Friday, Oct. 4, 6 to 8 p.m., at The Roycroft Inn, 40 S. Grove St., East Aurora.
