Silver Springs man pleads guilty to child pornography charge




<p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>BUFFALO — A Silver Springs man has pleaded guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to produce child pornography.</span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″><strong>Ronald Caryl</strong>, 25, pleaded guilty Friday, Jan. 19 in U.S. District Court. The charge carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 15 years in prison, with a maximum of 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.</span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>The charge stems from Feb. 14, 2017, when Caryl began communicating on social networking service MeetMe.com with a 23-year-old woman in Nashville. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron J. Mango said that during the conversation, the two began to discuss Caryl providing the woman with $300 to have sex with her.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”> </span></span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>“Just $300 and u do what u want to me,” the woman wrote.</span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>“Do you have a young girl who could join I’ll pay more … you into young girls?” Caryl replied.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”>   </span></span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>The woman reportedly replied that the girl must be at least age 18, but Caryl said he meant younger and that he would pay $6,000.</span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>“I can’t put things in her mouth she gets sick she’s disabled,” the woman replied. <span class=”Apple-converted-space”> </span></span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>Caryl went on to ask the woman to show him her daughter and she reportedly sent a picture to Caryl. Caryl continued to press the woman to send naked pictures of her one-year-old daughter, Mango said.</span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>A MeetMe.com staff member identified the possible endangerment of a minor and illegal content, and notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, who in turn notified the Federal Bureau of Investigation.</span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>Along with the FBI, the Wyoming and Niagara County sheriff’s offices, and the Cheektowaga Police Department assisted with the investigation.<span class=”Apple-converted-space”> </span></span></p><p class=”p1″><span class=”s1″>Sentencing is scheduled for May 1.</span></p>
