State Proposal Could Increase Winter Salt Costs to Towns


A law on the table concerning salt suppliers could make seasonal roadwork more expensive for local municipalities by placing restrictions on salt purchases by local highway departments. A current proposal, if passed, would mean that departments could only purchase road salt produced by companies mining salt within the United States.
