Troopers: woman attempts to smuggle drugs with child present




<p dir=”ltr”>ATTICA — A Rochester woman is facing numerous charges for smuggling drugs into the Attica Correctional Facility on an attempted inmate visit while accompanied by her 9-month-old daughter, State Police said.</p><p dir=”ltr”>Danielle A. Greene, 25, was arrested Thursday, Jan. 11 for the felony first-degree promoting prison contraband, as well as the misdemeanors seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree promoting prison contraband, endangering the welfare of a child and fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.</p><p dir=”ltr”>Greene was reportedly found to possess oxycodone, percocet and 11 latex glove fingertips containing marijuana while attempting to enter the facility to visit an inmate.</p><p dir=”ltr”>The 9-month-old child was turned over to immediate family members with the assistance of both Wyoming County and Monroe County Child Protection Services.</p><p dir=”ltr”>Greene was taken into custody and processed without incident, troopers said. She was arraigned in Warsaw Town Court and remanded to the custody of the Wyoming County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear in Attica Town Court at a later date.</p><p dir=”ltr”>Additionally, Greene is on probation for a September 2016 conviction in Monroe County Court for second-degree attempted hindering prosecution. She faces a future probation violation hearing in Monroe County.</p><p dir=”ltr”>The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision K9 unit assisted with the arrest.</p><p dir=”ltr”> </p>
