A presentation from a conservancy representative informed farmers about how to apply in the Town of Marilla Community Center on Wednesday, March 6. Rachel Chrostowski, the conservancy’s farmland conservation director, explained the grant’s benefits and the process for securing the protection.

Approximately 62,000 pounds of steamed chicken soup dumpling products that may have been contaminated with pieces of hard plastic from a permanent marker pen are being recalled. The steamed chicken soup dumplings were produced on Dec. 7, 2023. The product is a six-ounce box with plastic trays containing six pieces of “TRADER JOE’S Steamed Chicken Soup Dumplings” with lot codes “03.07.25.C1-1” and “03.07.25.C1-2” printed on the side of the box.

MF Meats, a Falconer, New York establishment in Cattaraugus County, is recalling approximately 94,000 pounds of raw meat products, which may have been contaminated with non-food grade mineral seal oil. This substance is not approved for use in meat processing, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Both County Jails are Equipped with Body Wearing Cameras

The rollout of body cameras at both jails operated by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office is complete. The county reports that 175 body-wearing cameras have been deployed at the Holding Center. There are 122 already being used at the Erie County Correctional Facility in Alden.
