Column: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

Audio Article

I conceived a clever idea for this week’s View From Right Field, but as soon as I sat down to convert it to keystrokes on a document, the distractions started. You see, even though today is a column-writing day, it’s also my birthday—my 71st, one more than the biblically allotted three score ten, for which I am not only grateful […]

Letter to the Editor: Sharing an Update on Tannery Brook Culvert Work

Audio Article

Dear Editor, A letter last week about the Tannery Brook Culvert Replacement Project contained some misinformation.  First, the sinkhole that formed in 2017 was in a section of the culvert impacted by heavy and intense rainfall. The culvert was compromised when stormwater runoff flowing through the culvert leaked through a seam in the old, deteriorating structure leaving a void and […]

Audio Article

Dear Editor, If the Aurora Republican Committee Chairman Earl Jann’s stated opposition to multiculturalism wasn’t enough to prove that his committee is out of touch with our community, Ms. Shoemaker’s letter to the editor last week made that crystal clear. Audio Article

Dear Editor, I saw a poll recently that ranked “Uniting the Country” as the second most important issue concerning Americans today, right behind the Coronavirus pandemic. Upon seeing the results of this survey, one commentator opined that he didn’t think we had ever been united as a country except during World War II and right after 9/11. I think the […]

Formerly a school building, for over a decade the Southside Commerce Center has been home to several commercial operations as well as Explore and More Children’s Museum and the Aurora Town Office.
