The League of Women Voters of NYS has been the recipient of $1 million from an anonymous donor, a gift that will allow the league to bolster efforts to address voter suppression at the state and local level. With this gift, the league will expand efforts to educate voters and work to ensure voting ease and access for all New Yorkers.
In a statement, the group stated “It indeed remains both a source of joy and humility for community allies to be in a position, in a time of need, to reach out to our friends and neighbors.”
East Aurora Lions will collect food items at the entrances to Tops Markets on Grey Street in East Aurora on Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
In order to help FeedMore WNY replenish its depleted supply of donated food, the nonprofit’s Board of Directors and Community Ambassador Council are encouraging the community to support their upcoming Spread the Love peanut butter drives, taking place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 5 at various locations throughout FeedMore WNY’s service area, including the Aurora Village Shopping Center on Grey Street.
