Elma native Chris Negron’s roots feature strongly in his work for young adult readers, and after a lengthy road to publication, he’s publishing his second book, pitching a third, and looking forward to summer teaching engagements.

Elma Native Finds Way to Volunteer through AmeriCorps
When Abigail Creighton of Elma graduated from Iroquois High School in 2019, she planned to attend college at SUNY Brockport. But instead she took a “gap year” and completed the online application for AmeriCorps in May of 2020. Through giving back to the community, she has learned life skills such as how to be adaptable, how to communicate better with others, how to develop yourself as a leader and take action.
