Unemployment Fraud Claims Continue to Rise Throughout State
Deputy Dennis Orlowski is the media contact for the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and he said that the department has answered 84 calls in 2021 pertaining to unemployment scams this year. Of those, Elma, Marilla and Wales have seen 17. Most victims are being notified from either the NYS Department of Labor or from their current employers.
