Senate Bill S7602A, “The Donor Conceived Person Protection Act,” known familiarly as Steven’s Law, would put controls in place that could spare other families the heartbreak the Gunners are still enduring. Laura Gunner was pleased to learn last week that prominent Assemblymember Amy Paulin will sponsor the bill in the New York State Assembly, giving the legislation momentum in Albany and a much better chance of becoming law. But public support is still needed.

A public hearing will be held Thursday, Aug. 5 regarding a proposed local law authorizing 12 and 13-year-old licensed hunters to hunt deer with a firearm or crossbow under the supervision of a licensed and experienced adult. Currently, 12 and 13-year-olds are able to only hunt deer with a bow or small game with firearms.
