While most people tend to think of 40 South Grove St. as the location of The Roycroft Inn, there were years where some called that address home. For decades, the Inn operated as a boarding house that rented out rooms by the week. Some stayed for a few days and some people stayed for a few years. Some are willing to share their stories.
Local businesses have donated building supplies and tool to assist in the restoration of the historic sawmill, and work is progressing. Organizer’s are hoping to find more assistance from the community, with regards to the foundation of the structure.
As we wait for spring, Knox Farm State Park is a winter wonderland with hundreds escaping the restrictions of Covid each day by enjoying cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, dog walking and even dogsledding in the foot of powder snow. But under that coating is a lot of work to be done. Knox officials are anticipating a busy spring with several major projects that will build on the successes of the positive momentum generated at the park over the past couple years. A new website launch this month will help the public learn how they can help.
