Public Hearing Set for Proposed Updates in Elma Sign Code
There are two public hearings on June 15 for the Town of Elma, regarding updates to the sign code and a possible expansion to the Stolle Road communications tower.




Elma Continues to See Increase in Savings
The independent company hired to conduct an audit on the Town of Elma’s finances gave its annual report last month, finding a “clean audit” with no major issues. The town now has $1.3 million in savings that is not assigned toward any future costs.






Town Grants Fire Departments Federal Funding
The Elma Town Board approved setting $200,000 in federal funding aside to split between the four town fire companies in a meeting marked by tension between board members over the way the decision was handled.






Town Studying Feasibility of Shared Sewer System with School
The Elma Meadows sewer district serves about 150 homes and has been cited for several years by a state department as in need of repairs. Serious talks by the Town of Elma are underway regarding the possibility of a shared system with the Iroquois Central School District.


County to Bring Mammogram Services to Elma

Elma Fire Companies Seek Portion of Federal Funds Sent to Town
Fire department members in the town of Elma asked the board to be included in plans to disburse the $1.2 million federal relief funds that need to be spent by 2024.






LED Message Board Signs to See Limitations in Elma
An LED sign committee has been in place to discuss the displays and to discuss zoning and code restrictions, and the Town of Elma is discussing limiting use of LED signs to within certain designated non-residential areas.


Elma Fire Companies Work Together in Recruiting New Members
Mercy Flight will land a helicopter on site, the state troopers and Erie County Sheriff’s Department will be on hand and the four participating fire companies will compete in different contests during a joint recruitment event on Saturday, April 23. The event is a free, family friendly gathering and everyone is invited to attend.
